Hello to all you wonderful people! I have decided to share the best ever chocolate chip cookie recipe with you today. Now some of you may think that I’m nuts stating these as the best ever, but in my family they are. This is the same recipe that my grandmother used her entire life. It is also the same recipe that has had my father being a greedy bastard over! Lets just say that when she used to make these cookies and give us a tin, my wonderful father used to “accidentally” place them on the top shelf in the pantry. It was also conveniently the only shelf that I couldn’t reach since I’m not 6’2 like some people. Well the jokes on him since after she died I’m the only one who can make them like she did! Guess whose begging for a cookie now! But really these cookies are amazing and remind me of everything that is right in childhood…unless you have a stingy father! Hope that you enjoy them as much as my family has!
Servings 150 cookies | Prep Time 15 mins| Total Time 30 mins
2 1/4 cup flour
1 cup butter
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp water
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
Set aside 2 ¼ cups of sifted flour, 1 tsp of baking soda and 1 tsp of salt.
Combine 1 cup (16oz) of softened butter, ¾ cup of granulated sugar, ¾ cup of packed brown sugar, 1 tsp of vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp of water…you can add a little more water but the dough come out better when it’s thicker.
Add flour mixture and mix very well. Stir in 2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips.
Drop by 1 tsp onto greased cookie sheet…I use Pam, but whatever floats your boat. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375°.
This should make close to 150 cookies.
